This has been a busy week full of invitations to lecture aboard cruise ships and/or lead tours. And not just Cuba, my usual gig!
I’m delighted to announce that I’ve accepted an invitation from UK-based deluxe cruise operator Noble Caledonia to lecture aboard their M/V Serenissima as it semi-circumnavigates Cuba on an 11-night “Cuban Delights” cruise, 23 February 2017. Since this is oriented toward British travelers, the cruise begins in Havana. We’ll also berth at María la Gorda, Isla de la Juventud, Cienfuegos, Trinidad (port of Casilda), and Santiago de Cuba. From here we’ll cruise south to Port Antonio, Jamaica. (Since I used to author the Lonely Planet and Thomas Cook travel guidebooks to Jamaica, this is also a destination I know well.)
I’ve also be invited to lecture aboard a cruise ship that will hopefully soon be approved by Cuba to sail from Miami to Havana and around Cuba. I’ll announce the details if/when that happens.
Meanwhile, I’ve also accepted an invitation to teach photography aboard the M/V Safari Endeavor for Un-Cruise Adventures in Mexico’s Sea of Cortéz, January 28-February 4, 2017. The sea, otherwise known as the Gulf of California, is the most biologically rich body of water in the world… renowned for its large whale population. Wow!
This is an awesome chance to swim and kayak among whale sharks,gray whales, blue whales, and more. Imagine the photography opportunities!
