Renowned Cuba expert and travel photographer Christopher P. Baker is offering a one-of-a-kind “Sensual Havana: Gamour & Fine Art Nudes Photo Tour” using more than two dozen of Cuba’s top female models plus ballerinas from the acclaimed Ballet Nacional de Cuba. The 7-day tour is limited to six clients. The tour will be offered December 14-21, 2022, and costs $4,875 per person.
Havana is as fantastic a backdrop for erotic glamour and sensual fine-art nude photography as exists in this world, given its mixture of Spanish colonial and faded baroque architecture, its wealth of 1950s American cars, and its stimulating aura of exoticism. To which, add Cuba’s stunningly beautiful women, and their joyous at-ease delight in being photographed and expressing their sensuality.
This one-of-a-kind photo tour makes the most of Havana’s fantastic settings and beautiful, self-assured women. Chris’ respectful and elegant treatment of the subject pays tribute to all that is positive about the Cuban Revolution and its advancement of women’s rights and self-determination, while also honoring their own unashamedly and affirmatively self-confident and sensuous way.
“This is equal part tour and workshop,” notes Chris. “Myself and our professional female Cuban photography will provide instruction and help in compositional and lighting techniques, guide you in using proper camera settings. and help you use the natural light to stunning effect. Plus, we’ll offer critiques. However, we will not be using technical studio lighting, nor provide intensive workflow/post-processing instruction. We’ll offer a happy medium for those photographers who want to grow and expand their creative vision, yet for whom the sheer enjoyment of sensual photography is an equal priority.”
Chris has secured more than twenty of Cuba’s top models, plus sensual ballerinas of the National Ballet of Cuba. You’ll get to photograph them all in incredible settings!
Much of the focus will be on street photography, using the models as props. At other times, you’ll shoot in old art deco and Beaux Arts mansions, semi-derelict buildings, and other fabulous settings such as a funky fisher cooperative and the surreal Bosque de la Habana.
In 2015, Annie Leibovitz famously photographed Rhianna nude in Havana (see below) for Vanity Fair. Chris’ group will use the same house and bedroom, among other venues, for its own sensual and fine art nude photography with Cuba’s own glamorous models and ballerinas…

National Geographic author, photographer, and expedition leader Christopher P. Baker has been hailed by National Geographic as “One of the world’s leading authorities on Cuba travel and culture.” His words and images have appeared in hundreds of articles and books about Cuba, from BBC and CNN to National Geographic, Playboy and even Penthouse (as well as seven travel books on Cuba, including National Geographic Traveler Cuba, the Moon Cuba handbook, plus his coffee-table book, Cuba Classics: A Celebration of Vintage American Automobiles). Chris has led more than 100 group trips to Cuba under the “people-to-people” and “support for the Cuban people” licenses–including photographic tours for Jim Cline Photo Tours, Lumaria Workshops, National Geographic Expeditions, and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops.
Chris will also be joined throughout by one or more of Cuba’s top female photographers specializing in glamour, street fashion, boudoir and fine-art nude portraiture.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
This tour is designed for photographers of all standards–beginner, intermediate or professional–and especially for those who may not have previously worked with models. Although this is a tour, not a workshop, we’ll span opportunities for all aspects of sensual portrait and street photography.
Our focus will be on shooting street photography and natural settings that require minimum equipment, using natural light spontaneously (plus occasional fill-flash, and perhaps reflectors and a soft-box).
We will endeavor to create space for you to pursue your personal interests with our models, be it fashion, dance, street photography, portraits, or boudoir and erotic fine art nudes. The goal? Editorial worthy images to be proud of!
This program is offered legally under the “support for the Cuban people” license, which permits all U.S. citizens to travel pre-approved to Cuba. It is designed to maximize “support for the Cuban people” through stays at private B&Bs, meals at private restaurants, and interactions with independent artists, photographers, models, and actresses, etc.
