I’m thrilled to announce that National Geographic Expeditions has announced the launch of an 11-day Colombia itinerary: “Discovering Colombia.”
Even better, I’ll be leading three of the five slated departures as the National Geographic Expert and the author of the National Geographic Traveler Colombia guidebook (published in 2012):
Nov 05 – 15, 2014
Dec 07 – 17, 2014 (special Photo Expedition)
Feb 15 – 25, 2015
It promises to be an exciting experience as we take in the vibrant cosmopolitan capital of Bogotá, plus charming colonial cities, the Coffee Triangle, and the lush cloud forest of the mid-level Andes.
It’s an immensely varied itinerary, with something for everyone.
Culture hounds will be astounded by Bogotá’s Museum of Pre-Columbian Gold. Outside Armenia, we’ll marvel at the coffee-growing process from bean to brew at a local farm in the ‘Coffee Triangle.’ Nature buffs will thrill as we look for exotic birds and orchids in the cloud forest of the Valle de Cocora. And everyone will admire the glory of perfectly-preserved colonial city of Cartagena–the Pearl of the Caribbean.
